Short version: KwickEat sets no cookies and tracks no one. The only thing it will ever count is outbound clicks, in aggregate.
What stays true
KwickEat sets no cookies. There are no accounts, no cart and no payment on this site. We don’t track you across visits, we don’t build a profile of anyone who visits, and we don’t run any third-party tracking or advertising script.
What we will count, and what we never will
KwickEat is adding one measurement: how many times people click “Order direct” through to a restaurant’s own ordering site. What that will record is small and aggregate: a restaurant, the source surface that sent the click (search, a city page, a cuisine page, the homepage, or related restaurants), the date, and a count. Each click adds one to that day’s running total for that restaurant and that surface — it is never written down as an event about you.
What it will never record: no cookie, no IP address, no user agent, no location, no identifier that follows you, no profile of anyone, no cross-site tracking, and no advertising. Counts are combined the moment they’re written, so there is no per-click record for anyone to look up, and nothing that could tell whether the same person clicked once or twice.
Those counts will be kept in a small file of their own, separate from the restaurant listings, on our own server. What’s retained is exactly that — restaurant, surface, date and a number — and nothing else.
The one thing we load from someone else
Pages here load a web font from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), so Google sees the IP address and browser of anyone who loads a KwickEat page. That is the only third party this site talks to: nothing else about your visit is sent anywhere.
No ads
KwickEat does not run AdSense or any other ad network.
What our web server keeps
Like any web server, ours keeps ordinary technical logs — things like the page requested, the time and the requesting IP address — for security and to keep the site running. Those logs are operational, not a profile of you, and we don’t sell or share them.
Search
If you search KwickEat, your search is used to return results for that one request. We don’t store a history of searches tied to you.
Where the restaurant data comes from
Menus, item names, descriptions and prices are read from each restaurant’s own KwickPOS online-ordering site. Star ratings are Google’s own ratings for that restaurant’s Google Business Profile. Clicking “Order direct” takes you off KwickEat to that restaurant’s own ordering site, which has its own, separate privacy practices — worth a look before you order.
This will change as the site grows
Phase 1 of KwickEat is a directory with no accounts, no cart and no checkout on this site. If a later phase adds any of those, or changes what this page describes about outbound-click measurement, this page will be updated first, and it will say plainly what changed.
