Stages Leap Wine Cellars

Stages Leap Wine Cellars is a renowned winery located in the heart of the Napa Valley, California, USA. It is not a restaurant, but rather a producer of premium Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux-style wines.

History and Ownership

Stages Leap Wine Cellars was founded in 1970 by Warren Winiarski, a Polish immigrant who had a passion for winemaking. Winiarski purchased a 240-acre property in the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley and planted Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and other grape varieties.

In 2007, Stages Leap Wine Cellars was acquired by the Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, a leading wine company based in Washington State. Ste. Michelle has continued to invest in the winery and its vineyards, ensuring its continued success.

Vineyards and Winemaking

Stages Leap Wine Cellars owns and manages over 150 acres of vineyards in the Stags Leap District. The vineyards are planted on a variety of soils, including volcanic ash, clay, and loam. The warm climate and long growing season of the Napa Valley provide ideal conditions for growing Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux varieties.

The winery's winemaking team is led by winemaker Marcus Notaro. Notaro uses traditional winemaking techniques, such as hand-sorting the grapes and aging the wines in French oak barrels. The wines are known for their elegance, complexity, and aging potential.
